It was for a story about Will, who was retiring, his ever harvest and the decline of family farms in Canada. Will and I hit it off and I ended up spending about four full days with him in his fields and combine, his farmyard, his home office and even a fowl supper in Mortlach when the harvest was complete. The great thing about being a journalist, and particularly a photojournalist, is you get to meet and really connect with people from all walks of life.
